青森県弘前市の弘前公園（弘前城）で開催する、毎年約200万人がお花見を楽しむ日本一のさくらまつりです。
桜前線の北上に伴って、4月の下旬ころ（今年の開花予想4月15日）から綻びはじめる弘前のさくら。
幾重にも重なるように咲き誇るさくらは、青森を代表する果物「りんご」の剪定方法から生まれました。
日本一といわれる弘前の桜は、ひとつの花芽からいくつもの花が咲き、もこもこと迫力のある花付きが特徴です。
弘前さくらまつりの夜桜は、ライトアップされ、その陰影に昼とは違う楽しみ方ができます。
青森市にも多くの桜の名所があり、海辺に近くに咲く合浦公園は全国でも珍しく、海のブルー、空のブルーと桜ピンクのコントラストが魅力的です。

Getting entranced by the cherry blossoms that bloom magnificently in layers in “Hirosaki” and “Aomori.”
This is Japan’s number one cherry blossom festival held at Hirosaki Park (Hirosaki Castle) in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, where approximately two million people enjoy cherry blossom viewing every year. The blossoms in Hirosaki start to unfold around late April, accompanying the northward movement of the cherry blossom front (predicted to bloom on April 15th this year). The cherry blossoms, blooming in layers reminiscent of the pruning method for Aomori’s representative fruit, the “apple,” are a sight to behold.
Hirosaki’s renowned cherry blossoms are said to be the best in Japan, with multiple flowers blooming from a single bud, creating a fluffy and powerful display of flowers. The nighttime cherry blossoms at the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival are illuminated, offering a different way to enjoy the blossoms with unique shadows.
Aomori City also boasts numerous cherry blossom viewing spots. The Gappo Park, which blooms near the seaside, is particularly rare nationwide. The contrast of the sea’s blue, the sky’s blue, and the cherry blossom pink is captivating.
